Day 29 – Sunday Nov. 17, 2013

Gratitude in Family

The last couple of days I have been reminded how grateful I am for my family. Not just my biological family, but the loved ones who are in my life today that are just like family. I have had the chance to celebrate with some family, and just have time for conversation with those I am close to.

Who in your life are you glad is part of your family? Who is like a brother or sister to you that you would like to thank?

We here at the CYLF family thank you for checking in with us and spreading that joy around the world.

Day 28 – Saturday Nov. 16, 2013

Gratitude in Silence

My day can be full of noise and distractions. When I am aware of this I become grateful for a chance to enjoy some silence.

Another aspect of this, is when I can express gratitude without saying anything, and only by my actions. I feel my “thank yous” are far more meaningful when it is with an act of kindness rather than words.

Can you incorporate some silence into your day today? Can you show someone you appreciate them without saying anything?

Day 27 – Friday Nov. 15, 2013

Gratitude in Movement

I spend a lot of my day sitting and not being very active. Two days ago I woke up with a sore neck, and the last two days have been uncomfortable to move. Even though I move very little, it dawned on me how thankful I am to be able to move and to move without pain.

What movement are you grateful for today? How will you move more throughout the day? If you are a very active person, do you take your body for granted?

Day 26 – Thursday Nov. 14, 2013

Simple Gratitude.

Today I was able to sit back and be grateful for the little things in my life. The things that have probably always been there, but I have either been too full of myself or too busy to notice. Throwing the ball for my dog, helpful coworkers, and a vehicle to get from place to place are just a couple examples.

How simple can your gratitude list look like? How truly meaningful are these simple things in your life?

Day 25 – Wednesday Nov. 13, 2013

Gratitude for Truth.

Right before I wrote this I was reminded by someone to “Be True to Yourself.” They reminded me of this not only through their actions, but also from a paper that had a fortune cookie fortune on it.

I was reminded that I am grateful for having an idea of who I am, and having the ability to be true to that. I am far from being able to do it 24/7, but I am thankful for the times that I can fully be myself.

What things are you grateful about yourself, and when have you been thankful for being true to your inner most self?

Listen for Gratitude

Today I was listening to a podcast, and the woman was talking about giving an assignment of “intensive listening.” Today I challenge you to listen for gratitude through out your day. If you are not hearing any you can always ask people what they are thankful or grateful for.

When you listen for gratitude what do you hear? Do words of gratitude flow from your mouth to your ears? If you share something you are grateful for with someone what is their response?

I am grateful for the readers that make this blog possible.

Day 23 – Monday Nov. 11, 2013

Gratitude in Choice.

I sometimes here people talk about “paralysis by choice.” They are basically talking about we have so many choices we analyze the situation so much that we do nothing. I feel this is true in some cases, and has happened to me before. Today I want to flip that upside down and create a new reality.

Today, I am grateful for my ability to make choices. I enrich my life when I come to a point and must make a decision. Even if I take a “wrong” turn, or end up in a place I rather not be, I choose to learn from those things today.

Where have I made choices I am proud of? Where have I been delaying something solely because I have to make a choice?

I would like to thank all of those who made the choice to serve in the military on this wonderful Veteran’s day. Help us celebrate choice here at CYLF.

Day 22 – Sunday Nov. 10, 2013

Gratitude in Friendship

I am grateful for all my friends. My friends from the past that I might not talk to anymore are important. They helped shape who I am today. My friends in this very moment I love and lift up with a joyful heart. The friends I do not even know that will cross my path in the future I look forward to sharing laughs with them.

How does friendship bring joy into your life? The people you call friends today, are they aware of the gratitude you feel towards them? How can you express your love for your friends today?

Thank you to all my friends, I love you and I am very thankful you are in my life today.

Freedom!

Today I am extremely grateful for my freedom. I took part in a training today that was required to volunteer at a detention center. I was very glad and humbled that I was able to leave at the end, when many do not have that choice.

I realize my gratitude for freedom also comes with a certain level of responsibility. How can I allow the Universe or Divine Guidance to help me to use my gift of freedom today to help others? Thank you Life for the life I enjoy today. I challenge you to find something in your life that you are grateful for, that everyone might not enjoy the same thing, and use that something to help others.

Day 20 – Friday Nov. 8, 2013

Consistent Gratitude.

I realize it is a lot to ask for someone to always be in a state of gratitude. I can be on the look out for things that begin to get between me and a heart of thankfulness. It might be a person, situation, place, or idea that can distract me from gratitude, but it is my choice to allow whatever it might be to bring me down.

Today I choose gratitude. When I am on top of the world, and when I feel down and out; I choose gratitude. If I am getting out of bed, walking into work, or enjoying the beautiful fall leaves; I choose gratitude. What do you choose today?
