47. Thanksgiving Edition

“I am thankful for the life that I get to live today, it is better than any life I could have imagined.” – Anonymous

In my past many things were taken for granted.  I never realized all that I had.  The funny thing is, back then I had all the material things that I thought I wanted. About four years ago I experienced a life-changing event. I lost all of the material things and all the little things came into sharp focus since then. I wake up each morning grateful for another day alive.  My life is much richer today.  I am grateful for my family and my friends on such a different level these days.  The thing I am most grateful for is my new found ability to be open, honest, and the ability to trust those in my inner circle with my real problems, fears, hopes, dreams and desires.  These little things I have found to be much more priceless than any material possession I have ever had.

Eternally grateful

My gratitude list:

  • The Great Mystery of Love
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Marco & Aunt Leslie
  • CYLFriday
  • “My ego is no amigo” – Allison B.
  • Tempe & Las Cruces
  • Attempting to connect my mind, body and soul
  • books
  • Last but not least; You!

Much Love

In this moment as I write this, I am so very grateful. I can smell an abundance of flavors that have spread through the house. I can hear people debating over the football game on the television. The sound of children playing and others laughing is echoing off the walls. My house is full of people, not one of which is related to another. This holiday has brought us all together to share in fellowship and friendship in the absence of our own families. Since early this morning the door has been rotating, smile after smile, with each incoming face I am reminded of how important the relationships are that have grown about my world. In this moment I am so grateful for the love that my friends bring me and the love that they allow me to give to them!

In Love With Life

Affirmation: I am so grateful. I am so grateful. Thank you Life.

  1. Thank you CYLF for every week writing things that always make me think about improving my life, or to quit that “Woe is me!” attitude. I am so thankful for so many people. And now I have one more to add to my list… a grandchild.
